This new facility houses both current programs from the Center and new "Take Flight" technologies that focus on Career Technical Education and Workforce Development around the key tenets of the Dayton Region (Engineering, Manufacturing and Information Technology). The project was pursued using a CM and subcontractor design assist method due to the complexity of substantial electrical and mechanical upgrades in the facility. Design assist allowed the project team to explore potential pathways for refrigerant piping to route up 5 floors through the building, to the roof, and for large groups of 4鈥 electrical conduits to route from new exterior generators to the 2nd floor data center.

This $18M project included nearly 5000 ft of 96鈥 conveyance piping to disinfect CEPT effluent and connect the new CEPT clarifiers to the Plant Effluent Pump Station. A new Sodium Bisulfite Chemical building was constructed along with chemical feed piping and a mixing structure to dechlorinate the CEPT flow before merging with the main plant outfall.

This $30M project added Chemically Enhanced Primary Treatment to the Southerly WWTP allowing it to treat an additional 130MGD. The scope of this project included two 180鈥 diameter clarifiers, 90鈥 conveyance piping, a complex chemical building housing polymer & FeCl chemical systems along with sludge pumps, and a diversion structure built over 2 operating 96鈥 plant influent pipes to divert flow to the CEPT process.
